Curriculum
There are two different length curriculums created for the JHU Smoke Alarm project -- one long curriculum and one short curriculum. The curriculum can be tailored based on individual home safety discussions with participating households.
Short curriculum
Long curriculum
This curriculum can be used when you have limited time to engage participating families in their home about fire safety prevention. The curriculum contains information on the importance of home safety fire prevention, including information on general fire prevention, the importance of smoke alarms and fire escape planning.
The long curriculum should be used when possible, and when you have more time to engage with participating families in their home about fire safety prevention. This curriculum provides more in-depth information on fire safety. In addition to the topics covered in the short curriculum, this curriculum includes information on cooking and heating safety, sleeping areas and fire extinguishers.
